Lions Signing Teddy Bridgewater
1 year agoThe Detroit Lions are signing free-agent quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to an undisclosed deal on Monday after a recent visit with the team, according to sources. Rookie Hendon Hooker (knee) is set for a medical redshirt year with the Lions, and Bridgewater will give the team more backup depth behind starter Jared Goff entering the 2023 regular season. He'll compete with Nate Sudfeld for the backup job for the rest of training camp and the preseason. The 30-year-old former first-rounder played in five games (two starts) for the Miami Dolphins in 2022 and threw for 683 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions on 79 passing attempts. Teddy B would merely become a desperation second QB in superflex leagues if Goff gets injured this year and he's forced into a starting role for Detroit.
