Davis Schneider Has Monster Weekend To Start Career
1 year agoToronto Blue Jays second baseman Davis Schneider continued his insanely hot start to his MLB career on Sunday, going 4-for-5 with a homer, four RBI, and a run scored in a 13-1 thumping of the Boston Red Sox. In his first three games, all of which were this weekend against the BoSox, Schneider went 9-for-13 with two homers, five RBI, two runs scored, and a walk. It was a truly incredible start to his career, and one that has fantasy managers perking up to see if they've found a diamond in the rough. While the 24-year-old isn't a highly regarded prospect, he was having a fantastic season in the minors and was rocketing up the Jays' board. He has good plate discipline and has shown a nice mix of power and contact skills in the minors, so he is worth a shot in deeper leagues to see if this is for real. Keep expectations low, but if you have a spot you can play with he isn't a bad flier.
