1 year agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Taylor Ward (face) underwent facial surgery Friday. He fractured several bones in the face after being hit by a pitch on July 29th's game against the Blue Jays. The 29-year-old is slashing .253/.335/.421 with 14 home runs, 47 RBI, 60 runs, and four stolen bases across 356 plate appearances in 2023. It's unclear when Ward will return to action, but he can come off the injured list in late September. Mickey Moniak and Randal Grichuk will handle left-field duties while Ward is sidelined. Grichuk has been on fire lately, hitting .333 (16-for-48) with four homers and five RBI over his last 12 games.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
