Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp was the 69th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft after an outstanding career at Eastern Washington. Kupp had a solid rookie season, totaling 62 receptions on 94 targets for 869 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
The former Eastern Washington star missed half of the 2018 season with a torn ACL. Yet, he was on pace for 80 receptions on 110 targets for 1,132 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. However, Kupp’s production improved the following year, totaling 94 receptions on 134 targets for 1,161 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in 16 games.
While his production slipped in 2020 thanks to the quarterback play, the veteran receiver had a breakout year after the team traded for Matthew Stafford. Kupp was the top wide receiver in 2021, totaling 145 receptions on 191 targets for 1,947 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns. Furthermore, he led the NFL in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns that year.

Is Cooper Kupp Injured Or Healthy?
Despite the team’s banged-up and dysfunctional offense, the superstar had another excellent season, totaling 75 receptions on 98 targets for 812 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Unfortunately, Kupp suffered a season-ending high ankle sprain in the Week 10 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
While the injury ended his 2022 season, the veteran was ready for Day 1 of training camp this offseason. However, the superstar suffered a hamstring injury towards the end of yesterday’s practice. Kupp had an MRI on his hamstring. Reportedly the Rams will be cautious with their superstar wide receiver but expect him back in a few weeks.
Where Should I Draft Cooper Kupp?
Los Angeles was the reigning Super Bowl champions heading into last season. Unfortunately, their offense fell apart in 2022. However, Kupp remained a fantasy superstar. He was the WR1 on a points-per-game basis, averaging 18.2 half-point PPR fantasy points per contest. Despite missing eight games, Kupp still ended the year as a top-24 wide receiver.
More importantly, the superstar has been arguably the most consistent wide receiver over the past two seasons. Kupp scored 12.7 or more fantasy points in all but one contest over the past two years, removing the matchup he got hurt.
If the veteran is 100% healthy before Week 1, fantasy players should feel confident using a top-five draft pick on Kupp. The Rams lack proven pass catchers, meaning the superstar should be the favorite to lead the NFL in targets this season.
