Indianapolis Colts running back Deon Jackson enters his third NFL season with just 445 total yards to his name, but more opportunities could be on the way.
Jackson was listed as the third-string running back to begin training camp, but he's now taking first-string reps after Zack Moss broke his arm and Jonathan Taylor's (back injury/trade request) uncertain future with the team.
Jackson put together a quartet of notable fantasy performances in games Taylor missed or left early in 2022. Can Jackson be fantasy relevant on a more consistent basis? Let's find out if he's worth drafting.

Deon Jackson's 2022 Performances
In four of the seven games that Jonathan Taylor sat or left early, Deon Jackson averaged 17.2 PPR fantasy points per game. His standout performance came in Week 6 against Jacksonville, with 10 catches and a touchdown.
However, following a fumble in Week 15, Jackson lost work to Moss. In the following two games, Jackson saw just six touches total before bouncing back with 14 in Week 18.
Jackson did get the majority of the work in Week 9, a game both Taylor and Moss sat, but failed to put together a strong performance (11 carries for 23 yards).
Is Deon Jackson Worth Drafting For Fantasy Football?
We are in wait-and-see mode right now. Both Jackson and fifth-round rookie Evan Hull could get first-team reps in practice.
Moss was given a six-week recovery timeline, which could put him in line to return around Week 2. Taylor could spend the season with the team, start the season on the PUP list, or be traded before September.
Both Jackson and Hull should be on rosters in deep redraft and dynasty formats. In best ball leagues, Jackson is worthy of a late pick. If we get closer to the start of the season and Taylor still isn't practicing, expect Jackson to rise up draft boards.
