Chase Briscoe Continues To Exceed Value In New Aero Package
2 years agoDuring Sunday afternoon's race at Richmond Raceway, Chase Briscoe continued to impress with his performance in the new aero package. This package, which was first introduced in March, is specifically designed for road courses and short tracks and aims to reduce downforce. Despite the new setup making handling more challenging, Briscoe has managed it quite well. In the eight races since its introduction, the No. 14 Ford Mustang has averaged 42.03 points on DraftKings, producing 5.5x value on an average salary of just $7,637. This is important to keep in mind, as the same aero package will be used in two of the next three races.

Chase Briscoe Qualifies Worse Than Usual At Bristol Despite Faster Car
2 days agoAlthough Chase Briscoe qualified 14th at Bristol, which doesn't sound terrible when you compare it to how the 23XI Racing Toyotas qualified, he was by far the slowest of the four Joe Gibbs Racing cars as his three teammates all qualified in the top seven. Briscoe is an agent of chaos who seems almost impossible to predict as this ties his worst qualifying run with this car even though he's now driving a JGR car that should by all rights be faster than the Stewart-Haas Racing cars he was driving before where he qualified 6th or better three times. Having said that, Briscoe has never led a lap at Bristol and finished worse than he started in all four races with the Next Gen chassis, so he likely is overvalued and his $9,000 cost on DFS seems to reflect the historical speed of the No. 19 car more than Briscoe's ability. All the other JGR drivers are likely better bets.

Chase Briscoe Likely To Benefit From Toyota Speed At Darlington
1 week agoChase Briscoe improbably delivered Stewart-Haas Racing's last win in last year's Southern 500, the last race at Darlington Raceway. Today he starts fourth in the Goodyear 400 with a much faster Joe Gibbs Racing Team and he is coming off from back-to-back top five finishes at the track, even though he had never earned a top ten before. Toyotas have dominated at this track frequently in recent years, although they're often snakebitten in terms of actually winning. The fact that four Toyota drivers qualified in the top seven suggests that Toyotas may likely dominate this race, but Denny Hamlin, Bubba Wallace, and Tyler Reddick are probably all much more likely to since they've been faster all year. Briscoe's starting position is probably much too high for DFS consideration unless you think he's going to lead a lot of the race. That's certainly possible, but it's not one of the more likely outcomes.

Chase Briscoe Has Solid Run At Martinsville
2 weeks agoChase Briscoe had a fairly generic run at Martinsville even though the Joe Gibbs Racing cars and the Toyotas in general seemed to have the most speed. He started 11th but didn't really settle into the top ten until Stage 2, a stage where he spent much of the time in the top five and got as high as fourth before eventually fading to ninth in a race his teammates Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell finished 1-2. Although all his JGR teammates probably had more impressive runs, he was still solid. His one blemish came on Lap 317 when he lost control and spun out Joey Logano for sixth, but Logano got him back by passing him for eighth on the last lap with his much fresher tires. Briscoe advanced one position from 13th to 12th in points and now sits 19 points above the playoff cutline.

Chase Briscoe May Be Worth Rostering In Martinsville Tournament Lineups
2 weeks agoChase Briscoe of Joe Gibbs Racing will start 11th after qualifying for Sunday's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. This is the first time that Briscoe will not start a Martinsville race inside the top 10 since April 2022. In eight races at the site, Briscoe has five top-10 finishes and has yet to finish worse than 15th since 2021. With six races completed so far this season, Briscoe has two top-5 finishes and gained positive place differential four times. In practice, Briscoe ranked 10th in overall lap averages while ranking as high as 17th in 30 consecutive lap averages. Briscoe is in top-notch equipment in one of his best tracks this week. However, his low upside based on his starting position and slower-than-expected practice speeds do make him a risk only worth playing in tournament lineups for Martinsville.
