Guardians Considering Dealing Aaron Civale
1 year agoThe Cleveland Guardians have kicked around the idea of trading right-hander Aaron Civale at this year's trade deadline, according to multiple industry sources. Civale's stock has never been higher, as he's sporting a 2.34 ERA on the year and a 1.45 ERA in his six July starts in which he's held the opposition to a .176/.229/.229 slash line. He also has two and a half years of team control. On the flip side, the Guardians are in desperate need of starting pitching with Shane Bieber, Triston McKenzie and Cal Quantrill all currently out with injuries. Civale tossed six scoreless innings on Sunday against the Chicago White Sox and is looking extremely intriguing at the trade deadline for contending teams. He has allowed two runs or fewer in six straight starts since July 2.
