Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Monday, July 31, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.
PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.
Announcement: We have two awesome new Props Optimizers for the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NCAA! The PrizePicks Optimizer and Prop Bets Optimizer are both available in our new Props Premium Package, which includes exclusive access to RotoBaller's VIP Discord chat rooms for props and betting.

PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Chris Bassitt less than 5.5 strikeouts
This number is a little high for Bassitt considering he has only struck out six or more three times in his previous 13 starts. The matchup in this one is against Baltimore, who has posted the 12th-highest K rate vs right-handers (24.4%) over the previous three weeks, however, only three of the previous 10 starting right-handers they have faced have eclipsed this total.
Marcus Stroman more than 4.5 strikeouts
While Stroman has eclipsed this total in just two of his previous five starts, he has struck out four batters in two of those other starts. He has a great matchup tonight against the Reds as they are posting the fifth-highest K rate vs. right-handers over the previous three weeks with a rate of 27.4%. The Reds are also posting just a 6% walk rate and wRC+ mark of 83 over that same span. The game will also be at Wrigley Field where Stroman has posted an 8.2 K/9 this season compared to a 7.4 mark on the road.
Seth Lugo more than 5.0 strikeouts
Lugo has struck out at least five batters in five of his previous six starts. He also faced these Rockies back on April 2nd and managed to mow down seven of them across his seven innings pitched. Over the previous three weeks, the Rockies are posting the eighth-highest K rate vs. right-handers with a rate of 26.2%. They are also posting just a 6.4% walk rate and a 73 wRC+ mark over that same span, so Lugo should be in good shape here.
Tyler Glasnow more than 7.5 strikeouts
Glasnow has a solid matchup against the Yankees, who are posting the 1tth-highest K rate (24.6%) vs. right-handers over the previous three weeks and were just mowed down seven times last night by Dean Kremer. Glasnow has struck out at least eight batters in five of his last six starts and has allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his previous four starts. This looks like a solid spot for Glasnow to keep rolling.
Other Recommendations: Nick Pivetta more than 6.5 strikeouts
