1 year agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Taylor Ward (face) has been transferred to the 60-day injured list and will miss virtually the entire regular season at minimum. Ward has multiple facial fractures as a result of being hit in the face with a fastball by Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah on Saturday. Ward had been a decent fantasy contributor and was extremely hot at the dish, slashing .304/.424/.623 in July, so the timing of this injury is tough. The Angels will use newly acquired Randal Grichuk to fill Ward's spot, although Mike Trout's impending return will see a logjam in the Angels outfield.
