Jake Browning, Trevor Siemian To Split First-Team Reps
1 year agoAccording to Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, quarterbacks Jake Browning and Trevor Siemian will split first-team reps moving forward. Joe Burrow (calf) is sidelined for "several weeks," meaning the team will take a hard look at who's No. 2 on the depth chart. Siemian has more experience, appearing in 35 games for the Broncos, Jets, Saints, and Bears over the years. But Browning has been with the organization since 2021, albeit on the practice squad, so he's more familiar with the offense. While Burrow will likely be under center for Week 1, Taylor has been vague with answers about his signal-caller. As a result, fantasy managers should monitor the backup battle, especially those contemplating an insurance policy in deep formats.
