1 year agoMiami Marlins right-hander Sixto Sanchez (shoulder) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session on Monday in Florida and was scheduled to throw another 20 to 25 pitches on Friday. Sanchez experienced "slight shoulder soreness" after an extended spring training game and then threw a 20-pitch session in Florida on May 30 without any pain. After that, though, he experienced yet another setback. The 24-year-old is making progress once again, but it remains to be seen as to when he'll be cleared to face live hitters or pitch in a game. He had arthroscopic shoulder surgery last October after having surgery in July of 2021 to fix a tear in the capsule of his right shoulder. It's still unlikely that Sanchez will factor into the major-league rotation in 2023.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
