1 year agoColorado Rockies first baseman C.J. Cron (back) is returning to the starting lineup on Friday against the visiting Oakland Athletics. Cron is serving as the designated hitter and is batting fifth in the lineup against A's left-hander JP Sears. The 33-year-old right-handed power hitter is back in action for the first time in a week after needing to rest due to lower-back tightness. Cron really hasn't produced all that much power for fantasy managers in 2023, as he's only hit 11 round-trippers while slashing .255/.299/.480 with an additional 11 doubles, 31 RBI and 31 runs scored in 211 trips to the plate over 53 games. He's returning to a nice matchup, though, and he went deep in four of his last five games before his back injury.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
