1 year agoAccording to ESPN NFL reporter Nick Wagoner, the 49ers will take things slow with running back Christian McCaffrey moving into the season. The veteran didn't participate in team drills on Wednesday. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan said it was "just how it was scheduled." Without question, McCaffrey will be one of the top running backs taken in fantasy drafts. But he has had trouble staying healthy over the years, which will remain a concern. That said, anyone adding McCaffrey heading into the 2023-24 campaign should consider picking up Elijah Mitchell, who appears to have a lock on the No. 2 spot on the depth chart.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
