Coby Mayo Enjoying Strong 2023 Campaign
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles third base prospect Coby Mayo was promoted to Triple-A Norfolk on July 14 and all he has done has mash since then. On Tuesday, the 21-year-old went 3-for-4 with two runs, four RBI and a solo home run. His home run would be his second since being promoted. Overall, Mayo has hit a healthy .303 with 19 homers and 59 RBI between Double-A and Triple-A. Mayo has climbed through the ranks since being drafted out of high school in 2021 due to his excellent exit velocities off his bat and strong power at the plate. He also is one of the best defensive third baseman in the minor leagues. With his glove ready and his bat not far behind, Mayo makes for an excellent stash in dynasty league. Without a true opening at the big-league level this season, managers in redraft leagues shouldn't expect to roster Mayo in 2023, but he is a name to file away for the future.
