Adley Rutschman Returning To Starting Lineup Tuesday
Adley Rutschman is back in the starting lineup Tuesday night against the Philadelphia Phillies and right-hander Taijuan Walker. Rutschman got a breather in Monday's series-opening 3-2 victory but will get back at it Tuesday out of the two-hole. The 25-year-old has collected just five hits over his last seven games but has made the most out of them with three doubles and a homer in that time. For the season, the former No. 1 pick has put up a .269 average with 13 home runs, a .797 OPS, .348 wOBA, and 123 wRC+ across a hefty 422 trips to the plate. With a healthy .363 xwOBA that sits in the league's 87th percentile, fantasy managers can expect Rutschman to keep delivering superior results at the dish.

Adley Rutschman Out With Hand Injury
Adley Rutschman (hand) will not be in the team's lineup on Sunday when they line up against the Detroit Tigers on the road. The switch-hitting backstop was apparently hit in the hand on Saturday during Baltimore's second game of the doubleheader, though he was not pulled from the contest. Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com reports that he'll be available off the bench for the series finale. Rutschman has been struggling at the dish over the last few weeks, tallying just five hits (one home run) over his previous 37 at-bats (.135). Per statcast, the former first-round pick is due for some positive regression, as his xBA of .276 is quite a ways off his actual .209. Gary Sanchez is behind the plate and batting fifth against Detroit to close out the series.

Adley Rutschman, Ryan Mountcastle Not In Game 1 Lineup
Adley Rutschman and first baseman Ryan Mountcastle will take a seat in game one of their doubleheader on Saturday against the Detroit Tigers with Casey Mize on the mound. Both Orioles hitters have been struggling lately; however, the decision by manager Brandon Hyde not to start them in Game 1 is due to the nature of the doubleheader, so fantasy managers should not look too much into it. In the meantime, Gary Sanchez will start behind the plate and bat eighth in place of Rutschman. Ryan O'Hearn will start at first base because of Mountcastle, moving Jordan Westburg into the designated hitter spot while Ramon Urias starts at third base.

Adley Rutschman, Ryan O'Hearn Sitting On Saturday
Adley Rutschman and first baseman Ryan O'Hearn are not in the starting lineup on Saturday afternoon when they face the Kansas City Royals. Rutschman will receive a maintenance day as he has started in each of the first eight games of the regular season. During the start of the campaign, Rutschman has held a .258/.343/.484 line with one double and two round trippers. He will cede catching duties to Gary Sanchez this afternoon. O'Hearn has not tallied a hit in each of his past two contests and will leave the designated hitter spot open for Gunnar Henderson. Ramon Urias will enter the lineup and cover the hot corner as well. Fantasy managers should expect Rutschman to return to the lineup on Sunday, facing southpaw Kris Bubic. However, O'Hearn will likely continue to ride pine as he typically sits against left-handed pitching.

Adley Rutschman Blasts Two Home Runs In Three-Hit Day
Adley Rutschman slugged two home runs in Thursday's 12-2 drubbing of Jose Berrios and the Toronto Blue Jays. The 27-year-old went 3-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored in the contest, picking up where he left off Grapefruit League play, where he slashed .357/.438/.595 with three home runs in 16 games. The former first-overall draft pick started strong last season, earning his second All-Star nomination, however, he struggled mightily in the second half. Hopefully this performance sets the switch-hitter up for sustained success throughout the entire 2025 season, and he lives up to the 60th-overall fantasy draft price.
