Kadarius Toney Expected To Be Ready for Week 1
1 year agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney aggravated a knee injury while fielding a punt on Sunday and is expected to miss time during training camp. Toney underwent a cleanup procedure on his knee this offseason but finds himself back in the injury headlines. However, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Toney should at least be ready to play in the team's Thursday night season-opener against the Detroit Lions on September 7. Toney will miss valuable practice reps moving forward, which is obviously concerning since he's far from an established wideout thus far in his career. With Toney out, expect Skyy Moore, Rashee Rice, and Richie James to all get additional reps. Barring an injury setback, Toney will continue to carry a high-risk, high-reward outlook into his first full season with the Chiefs.
