Zach Neto Not In The Lineup On Sunday
Zach Neto (back) is absent from the lineup on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 22-year-old rookie missed Saturday's contest as well with lower back tightness so he's dealing with the same issue, apparently. The Angels have Monday off before hitting the road to kick off a three-game set against the Detroit Tigers so Neto should be good to go for that series. Andrew Velazquez is starting at shortstop on Sunday and batting ninth against Mitch Keller.

Zach Neto’s Swipes Two Bags To Help Lift Angels To Victory Over Blue Jays
Zach Neto had a nice night in an 8-3 victory Tuesday over the Toronto Blue Jays. Neto finished 1-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases, and two runs scored on Tuesday. He picked up a single in the first inning before scoring on a Taylor Ward two-run homer. The 24-year-old also stole two bases in the victory, bringing his season total up to seven. Neto has produced well at the top of the Angels' lineup, hitting .290 (18-for-62) with a .323 OBP and a .888 OPS. His barrel percentage has also doubled in this young season, from 8.4 last year to 16.7 this year. Fantasy managers should continue to roll with Neto while he's swinging a hot bat.

Zach Neto Homers, Swipes Three Bags
Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto showed off his power-speed combo on Saturday, going 3-for-4 with a homer and three steals in a 5-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins. Neto is now hitting .300 with a .990 OPS, five runs, three homers, five RBI, and three steals in 30 at-bats. The 24-year-old is only a week into his season as he returned from shoulder surgery on April 18, but so far, so good. He popped some impressive numbers last season, including 23 homers and 30 steals, and if the Angels' shortstop can build on those, he should be a stud in fantasy. Neto is still available in some leagues but should be rostered in all leagues now.

Zach Neto Hits Go-Ahead Home Run On Thursday
Zach Neto blasted an eighth-inning home run on Thursday evening off of Chase Shugart to give the Angels a 4-3 lead and help them salvage a win in their three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The home run was Neto's second of the season, as he was just activated off the injured list on April 18. On the evening, Neto went 3-for-5 and raised his average to .238. The young shortstop is off to a nice start to the season, slashing .238/.273/.619 with two home runs, four RBI, and four runs scored in 22 plate appearances. Last season, Neto had a significant increase in power, hitting 23 home runs compared to his nine in 2023, so he will look to keep that rolling in this year and is off to a good start with a few home runs in his first week back. Next up for the Angels is a road test against the Minnesota Twins. Neto will look to keep things rolling.

Zach Neto Hits His First Long Ball Of The 2025 MLB Season
Zach Neto was reinstated from the injured list and hit his first home run of the 2025 campaign in the fifth inning on Sunday against future Hall-of-Famer Justin Verlander in the Angels' 5-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants. Neto finished his afternoon by going 1-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored, and he helped the Angels complete their ninth-inning comeback by scoring the winning run on Sunday. The home run was an excellent sign for Neto, as he hit 23 home runs in 2024, a career high for him at the MLB level and a vast improvement from the nine he hit in 2023, his rookie season. Up next for the Angels is an off day on Monday before a three-game series at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
