1 year agoThe Chicago Cubs reinstated shortstop Dansby Swanson (heel) from the 10-day injured list on Saturday and optioned first baseman Jared Young to Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move. Swanson will immediately return to shortstop and bat sixth in the lineup on Saturday against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals and right-hander Miles Mikolas. The 29-year-old didn't require a minor-league rehab assignment, so don't be surprised if he's a little rusty at the plate this weekend. The two-time All-Star is returning to a somewhat disappointing .258/.343/.409 slash line with 10 home runs, 15 doubles, two triples, 36 RBI, four stolen bases and 41 runs scored in 367 plate appearances and 83 games in his first year in Chicago.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
