Jets Sign Damarea Crockett
1 year agoThe New York Jets signed free-agent running back Damarea Crockett and defensive lineman Ifeadi Odenigbo to undisclosed deals on Friday and released tight end Izaiah Gathings in a corresponding move. Crockett missed all of last year due to a torn ACL that he suffered in training camp. In his rookie campaign in 2021 with the Denver Broncos, he had just three carries for seven yards in 12 games (zero starts). The 25-year-old will compete for a roster spot for the Jets in training camp as depth at the position. Odenigbo played in 14 games (zero starts) for the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022 and had only 18 tackles (nine solo), 3.5 sacks, four tackles for loss and six QB hits.
