Connor Norby Makes Early Exit On Saturday
7 days agoMiami Marlins infielder Connor Norby (side) was forced to exit early during Saturday's spring training contest. Norby was taken out of the game after suffering left side discomfort while sliding into third base. The expectation is that Norby will undergo further testing before the team decides what to do next. It's possible that Norby does begin the season on the injured list. That would be a shame considering Norby was expected to be the everyday option at third base to begin the season. UPDATE: Norby will get imaging on his left oblique after he injured himself swinging on Saturday.

Connor Norby Eyeing 30 Home Runs
1 month agoMiami Marlins second baseman/third baseman Connor Norby is eyeing to hit 30 home runs during the 2025 campaign. The 24-year-old is slated to be Miami's everyday third baseman during the upcoming season. He made his MLB debut last summer. During his first 45 MLB contests, Norby went deep nine times and held a .236/.294/.438. However, once he joined Miami, after being traded from Baltimore, he posted a higher .247/.315/.445 slash line. Under the hood, he generated a strong 14.8 percent barrel rate and a 47.0 percent sweet spot rate. However, he did strike out at a hefty 33.0 percent rate. Across 247 career games at Triple-A, Norby has held a strong .497 SLG. Fantasy managers should expect Norby to have an everyday role in an MLB lineup for the first time in his career, which makes him an intriguing late-round middle infield option.

Connor Norby Back In The Lineup For Marlins
7 months agoMiami Marlins rookie infielder Connor Norby (foot) is back at third base and hitting leadoff on Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates and left-hander Bailey Falter at PNC Park. Norby fouled a ball off his foot on Monday and was scratched from the starting lineup on Tuesday as a result, but the injury obviously wasn't serious enough to keep him sidelined for more than one day. With the Fish playing out the string in 2024, the 24-year-old prospect is going to see everyday playing time at third base the rest of the way. He's the team's No. 3 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and has looked good at the plate since being acquired at the trade deadline from the Orioles. Norby is already up to six home runs and has seven doubles, 13 RBI and two stolen bases in just 19 games played since coming to South Beach. Get him back into your starting lineups on Wednesday.

Connor Norby Scratched From Marlins Lineup
7 months agoMiami Marlins rookie infielder Connor Norby (undisclosed) has been scratched from the team's starting lineup on Tuesday at PNC Park against the hosting Pittsburgh Pirates for undisclosed reasons. Fantasy managers will want to check back for further updates on why Norby was scratched. The 24-year-old should be considered day-to-day for now. Jake Burger is starting at third and batting third, while David Hensley will start at first and bat eighth against Pirates right-hander Carmen Mlodzinski. Norby, who came over from the Baltimore Orioles in the trade that sent lefty Trevor Rogers to the O's in late July, has looked like the high-end prospect he is in his first 19 games for Miami this year, going 24-for-77 (.312) with six home runs, seven doubles and 13 RBI in 82 plate appearances. He has a bright future in the big leagues and already deserves love in mixed fantasy leagues.
