Jahmyr Gibbs Should Have Immediate Impact
1 year agoThe Detroit Lions parted ways with running backs Jamaal Williams and D'Andre Swift this offseason and drafted Jahmyr Gibbs with the 12th overall pick. The Lions view Gibbs as an Alvin Kamara-type back who will contribute equally in the passing and running games. Gibbs should take Swift's place in the offense immediately in 2023, and he's faster while also proving durable during his career at Georgia Tech and Alabama. The 21-year-old is expected to draw snaps all over the field and could quickly establish himself as one of the best pass-catching backs in the NFL in a rising offense. Gibbs won't be a bell-cow back by any means, especially with David Montgomery also sharing the backfield, but he should have RB2 upside in his rookie season in PPR leagues.
