Logan O'Hoppe Trending Toward Return This Year
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe (shoulder) is trending toward a return this season, according to manager Phil Nevin. O'Hoppe suffered a labrum tear in his shoulder, but the speed of his progress has made the Angels optimistic that he can play again in 2023. However, there remains no timetable for his return. The 23-year-old had surgery on his left (non-throwing) shoulder back in late April. The fact that the injury is to his non-throwing shoulder is making it possible for O'Hoppe to come back. O'Hoppe resumed hitting off a tee last weekend and was doing catching drills on Wednesday, so fantasy managers might want to scoop him up if he's available on your league's waiver wire. He was hitting .283 (15-for-53) with four home runs, 13 RBI and five runs scored at the time of his injury as the Angels' primary backstop.
