Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Skyy Moore didn't have a productive rookie season, but not every wideout is a star right away, so he still has plenty of fantasy football intrigue heading into his sophomore campaign.
Being tied to Patrick Mahomes won't hurt his case, and the departure of JuJu Smith-Schuster leaves plenty of targets on the table. Second-year receivers often pay off mightily at ADP, so he could be one of 2023's biggest fantasy sleepers.
Is Moore the starting slot receiver for Kansas City? When should you draft him in fantasy football? Let's dive in.

Is Skyy Moore The Chiefs' Primary Slot Receiver?
Moore figures to be the team's top slot option heading into the 2023 season, replacing Smith-Schuster. Moore was one of the best performers at mandatory minicamp last month. "Skyy's worked real hard this offseason," head coach Andy Reid said. "He looks like he's on the same page with Patrick Mahomes. He's doing a nice job. Let's keep on advancing as we go. He'll do that because he's wired right to do that."
Moore caught just 22 passes for 250 yards as a rookie in 2022, but the upside could be significant if he continues to impress at training camp this summer. Travis Kelce will continue to operate as the team's target hog, but none of Kadarius Toney, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, or Rashee Rice are established NFL receivers, so the competition for targets is wide open after the All-Pro tight end.
Skyy Moore 2023 Fantasy Outlook
Moore's ADP sits around the WR49 slot, meaning he's a great flyer in the late-rounds of deep league drafts. There's no evidence that Kadarius Toney is ahead of him in the target pecking order, despite the Toney hype this offseason.
In the ninth round, all of the "can't-miss" wide receivers are off the board, so it's a savvy move to target wideouts in great offenses who have real upside. Moore fits that bill in 2023 preseason drafts.
If teams continue to play shell coverage against Kansas City, Moore could become a PPR machine and high-volume target for Mahomes.
