Justin Thomas Stuck In Season-Long Slump
2 years agoFor most players on the PGA Tour, Justin Thomas' season would be just fine. Thomas has had four top-10s and 10 top-25s since the season began in the fall. For a player with Thomas' talent, however, it's viewed as a disappointment. Thomas' putting has been poor all season but for the past month, his ball striking has struggled too. With how inaccurate Thomas can be off the tee at times, this tournament seems an unlikely spot for him to break this slump.

Justin Thomas Continues To Spark But Hopes To Keep It Lit At Innisbrook
4 weeks agoIt was a weird week for Justin Thomas at TPC Sawgrass, as the course record-tying 62 shot on Friday was coupled with three rather uninspiring rounds. Looking back, his great second day was needed just to make the weekend after an opening round, 78 had things looking bleak for the former Players Champion. That speaks to the talent that the 31-year-old still has, but the frustrating reality of the state of his golf game for the last couple of years. This week's event at Innisbrook has been a somewhat frequent stop for J.T. through the years. In seven career starts, he's racked up one top 5, two top 10s, and two top 20s; mostly due to great ball striking. Over his last 16 rounds on the Copperhead Course, the former Alabama golfer has averaged +1.258 strokes gained on approach. This week could be a much-needed confidence booster depending on what player shows up to the first tee on Thursday. Regardless, Thomas is worth whatever the risk, even at $11,900 on FanDuel.

Justin Thomas Looking For More Magic At TPC Sawgrass
1 month agoIt still seems like yesterday that Justin Thomas was storming up the leaderboard at the 2021 Players Championship and rope-hooking a wood down the left side of the iconic 18th hole to allow him to edge out an aging Lee Westwood by one stroke. Flash forward four years, and a lot has changed about JT's game, most of it not for the better. 2025 has had a successful beginning, but after a T36 at Bay Hill last week and losing an average of -1.16 strokes with the flat stick, it is safe to have doubts about him finding the tools to post a quality finish at TPC Sawgrass this time around. Putting has been a hindrance on bermuda greens for much of his career, and with losing over seven strokes on the greens at the Stadium Course over the past two years, it must be considered before adding him to lineups, though everything else seemingly points to all systems go.

Justin Thomas Poised For Another Strong Performance At Arnold Palmer Invitational
1 month agoJustin Thomas has come close to victory multiple times this season, recording three top-10 finishes in his last four starts. He now turns his attention to the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he has competed three times, posting finishes of T49 (2015), T21 (2023), and T12 (2024). To continue his success at Bay Hill, Thomas will need to be elite off the tee and on approach, as the course ranks among the toughest in both areas. While Thomas has struggled off the tee this year, losing 1.212 strokes and ranking 86th in total driving, he has more than made up for it with his approach play, gaining 1.045 strokes per round — the fifth-best mark on tour. In what are expected to be tough scoring conditions, avoiding bogeys will also be key, and Thomas ranks eighth in this category. It's only a matter of time before he breaks through for a win, and at his $9,400 price tag on DraftKings, fantasy managers can play him confidently.

Justin Thomas Secures Another Top-10 Finish At WM Phoenix Open
2 months agoJustin Thomas finished tied for sixth at last week's Waste Management Phoenix Open, marking his second top-10 finish in his last three tournaments. He is now focusing on preparing for this week's Genesis Invitational, which will be held at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California. It's worth noting that Torrey Pines hosted the Farmers Insurance Open last month, and over 22% of approach shots were taken from distances over 200 yards. Over the past 12 months, Thomas ranks in the 77th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from this distance in the fairway. Thomas has yet to miss a cut in 2025, making him a valuable addition to DFS lineups this week.
