1 year agoThe Detroit Lions signed first-round rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs to his rookie deal on Monday. Like all first-round selections, Gibbs, who was surprisingly chosen 12th overall by Detroit, will have a fifth-year option included in the deal. The Alabama product figures to be a prominent piece of the backfield right away in his first NFL season, and his dual-threat abilities should give him RB2 appeal immediately in fantasy in both PPR and standard-scoring formats. He'll probably be used more as a pass-catcher, though, so he's worth a midrange RB2 selection in PPR setups. The 21-year-old will work in tandem mostly with David Montgomery, who came over to the Lions this offseason from the Chicago Bears.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
