Christian Encarnacion-Strand Hitting Seventh In MLB Debut
1 year agoCincinnati Reds infield prospect Christian Encarnacion-Strand is serving as the designated hitter and is batting seventh in the lineup on Monday in his major-league debut against the San Francisco Giants and right-hander Logan Webb. It was only a matter of time before Encarnacion-Strand made his big-league debut for the Reds in 2023 after he hit an impressive .331/.405/.637 with 20 long balls, 21 doubles, two triples, 62 RBI and 65 runs scored in 67 games for Triple-A Louisville. The Reds' No. 5 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, could see most of his at-bats at DH for the Reds, but he can also play third and first base. The 23-year-old needs to be added in all fantasy formats immediately because of his impressive raw power. Encarnacion-Strand is currently rostered in 46% of Yahoo leagues.
