Ty Gibbs Will Start Last At New Hampshire
1 year agoDuring qualifying on Saturday afternoon, Ty Gibbs' car was a handful to say the least. You could visibly see the Cup Series rookie struggling to the control the car during his lap, and eventually he backed entirely out of the gas while making his qualifying attempt. Because of that, Gibbs will start from last (36th-place) when the Crayon 301 goes green. The positive note, however, is that the #54 Toyota was sporty during practice, as Gibbs ranked 8th-fastest in ten-lap average and showed some of the lowest tire falloff among all drivers. This is even more promising considering Ty is making his first ever Cup Series start at this track. When it comes to his race day outlook, Ty Gibbs still has his typical mid-teens (or better) finishing potential, which makes him a great DFS driver pick because of the place differential potential.
