Justin Turner Starting At Second Base
1 year agoBoston Red Sox third baseman/designated hitter Justin Turner is getting the starting nod at second base on Friday against Chicago Cubs right-hander Kyle Hendricks to kick off the second half of the season. He's hitting third in the batting order. Turner will make his first start at the keystone since 2015 as the Red Sox look for more offense entering the second half of the season. The 38-year-old veteran slugger is probably unlikely to gain second-base eligibility for fantasy managers, however. Turner is still a solid source of batting average (.288) and on-base percentage (.362) and can still provide decent power numbers (13 homers and 52 RBI) in his first year in Beantown. With Turner at second, Masataka Yoshida will serve as Boston's designated hitter on Friday.
