1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks third baseman Evan Longoria will make the start at third base and hit sixth in the lineup on Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays and right-hander Jose Berrios to kick off the second half of the season. Longoria and Emmanuel Rivera are currently locked into a platoon at the hot corner in the desert for the D-backs, but it will be the 37-year-old veteran getting the nod for the first game of the second half. Longoria can still provide a little thump for fantasy managers in deeper leagues, as he's hit 11 home runs in 139 at-bats this year, but he's hitting only .237 with 22 RBI and went hitless in his last five games before the All-Star break.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
