Kyle Manzardo Goes On Minor-League Injured List
1 year agoTampa Bay Rays first base prospect Kyle Manzardo (undisclosed) was placed on the seven-day injured list at Triple-A Durham earlier this week with an undisclosed injury. The club's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, was selected to the All-Star Futures Game but didn't play last weekend, and now he won't be ready for the start of the second half of the minor-league season. The 22-year-old left-handed hitter had a disappointing first half with the Bulls, slashing .238/.342/.442 with 11 home runs, 19 doubles, a triple, 38 RBI and 33 runs scored in 73 games. However, he still has a bright future and only struck out 65 times while walking 42 times in 313 plate appearances. The problem in fantasy is that his hit tool is above his power, but he's still young enough to where he could develop more pop down the line.
