Spencer Strider Slated To Start On Saturday
1 year agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider is scheduled to start on Saturday at home against the Chicago White Sox. Strider reeled off four straight quality starts prior to the All-Star break and he's looking to carry that success over into the second half. The current MLB strikeout leader hit a rough patch in early June, allowing 15 earned runs over three starts. However, he's allowed just four runs over his last four starts, which has stabilized his ERA and WHIP. Overall, the dynamic 24-year-old owns an 11-2 record, 3.44 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 166:34 K/BB ratio over 104 2/3 innings (18 starts). He started just 20 games (34 appearances) in the 2022 season while working 131 2/3 innings so he's on pace to beat those numbers this year. It's unclear if the Braves are going to give him extra days of rest down the stretch but fantasy managers shouldn't worry about that now.
