It was a disappointing 2022 season for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. He threw for just 2,860 yards and 23 touchdowns with a career-high 15 interceptions in 12 games. He missed five games due to a right thumb injury and finished the year as the QB18 in fantasy.
This season, though, could be a much improved year for Prescott. The Cowboys acquired veteran Brandin Cooks this offseason and wide receiver Michael Gallup is expected to be back to 100% following his ACL tear at the end of the 2021 season.
Will Cooks' arrival help Prescott finish as a top-10 fantasy quarterback in 2023? What is his fantasy outlook? Let's take a look.

Dak Prescott's 2022 Season
Prescott did not live up to his perceived fantasy value last season. After finishing as the QB8 in 2021, the 29-year-old signal-caller finished ten spots lower last season. He averaged just 17.8 fantasy points per game and also missed five games from Week 2 to Week 6 with a thumb injury.
The Cowboys' lack of wide receiver talent around Prescott could have contributed to his unsuccessful season. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was great as the WR1 in Dallas, but outside of him, there wasn't much production from that group. Gallup struggled in his first-year post-ACL surgery, Noah Brown was the team's WR3, and rookie Jalen Tolbert was non-existent.
Still, Prescott had five games above 20 points with five top-10 quarterback finishes last season. The quarterback will have to be more consistent, though, this year. He scored less than 17 points in six games in 2022.
Will Dak Prescott Be A Top-10 Fantasy Quarterback In 2023?
Prescott has four top-10 quarterback finishes over his seven-year career (2016, 2017, 2019, 2021). His best fantasy finish came in 2019 when the 29-year-old ended the year as the QB2. That season saw the Cowboys quarterback average 21.4 fantasy points per game.
That range of outcomes is certainly possible for Prescott in 2023. The addition of Cooks -- who has six 1,000-yard seasons in his career -- will surely help give the quarterback an additional reliable target in the passing game. The departure of Kellen Moore shouldn't hurt the offense too much, either.
Prescott has the weapons and talent around him to get back to a top-10 fantasy quarterback. If the Cowboys' quarterback can stay healthy this season, there's no reason he can't finish inside that mark. There's only one time in his career (2018) that he started every game and didn't finish in that range.
