Max Meyer Throws Bullpen Session
1 year agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Max Meyer (elbow) was able to throw a 15-pitch bullpen session last week. The 24-year-old is not expected to pitch this season after undergoing Tommy John surgery last July. Meyer is the team's No. 2 prospect, so the team is obviously going to take a cautious approach with their prized right-hander. Meyer made two starts for the Marlins last season, but mainly pitched in Single-A Jupiter and Triple-A Jacksonville. The hope is that Meyer will be ready by the beginning of next season. The fact he was able to throw this week is a step in the right direction.
