Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul Reed will have his offer sheet matched by the team with just a little over an hour to spare, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The 24-year-old has become a fan favorite in Philly and one of the best backup bigs the team has had behind Joel Embiid. If the team wins their first-round playoff matchup this season, then they have to guarantee the last two years of Reed's contract. With this team now led by head coach Nick Nurse, it doesn't sound like that's going to be much of an issue. His fantasy relevance only comes during streaming times when Embiid is hurt or resting.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Pistons are waiving forward Paul Reed. The 2020 No. 58 overall pick began his career by spending four years in Philadelphia, where he had some productive showings. But after the Sixers waived him, he was claimed by the Pistons. Unfortunately, things didn't work out in Detroit, with Reed averaging only 4.8 points in 12 games. He'll likely draw plenty of interest from clubs around the National Basketball Association, especially from teams looking to bolster depth. But regardless of where Reed lands next, he'll need minutes before earning a place on fantasy rosters.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

On Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Detroit Pistons claimed center Paul Reed off free agency waivers. Reed is in the second season of a three-year, $24 million deal and will join former 76ers teammate Tobias Harris in the Motor City. The 76ers waived the 25-year-old on July 6th. With Philadelphia, he suited up for 82 regular season games last year, averaging 7.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.0 blocks in 19.4 minutes. Come fall, Reed will not be a fantasy factor, as he will have to compete with Isaiah Stewart and Jalen Duren for playing time.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Philadelphia 76ers are waiving forward/center Paul Reed. The 25-year-old inked a three-year, $23.5 million deal with Philly last offseason. However, with the Sixers signing free agent Caleb Martin, Reed, who has a non-guaranteed salary, will be sent packing. He averaged a career-high 7.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks with the Sixers last season. Although Reed will likely find a new team, he isn't expected to be a routine contributor anytime soon.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

Philadelphia 76ers center Paul Reed will return to the starting five on Wednesday versus Memphis. Reed has been Philadelphia's main starting center since Joel Embiid (knee) dropped out of the lineup, but 76ers head coach Nick Nurse had preferred to run Mo Bamba with the starters in the previous three games. Bamba hasn't done much in the elevated role, and now it's time for Reed to boost his stock again. The 2021 G League MVP has recorded 10.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in the first unit this season. However, he faces a difficult challenge on Wednesday against Jaren Jackson Jr., the NBA's reigning Defensive Player of the Year. Nicolas Batum will also be back among the 76ers starters on Wednesday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
