1 year agoThe New York Yankees have selected shortstop George Lombard Jr. with the 26th overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. The Gulliver Prep (FL) product has plenty of pop and runs fairly well, giving him the potential to deliver a lot of extra-base hits. Defensively, he has enough arm strength to play third base, but New York is expected to test out his range at shortstop in hopes of keeping him away from the hot corner, at least for the time being. By joining the Yankees' organization, Lombard will forgo his commitment to Vanderbilt.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
