Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Saturday, July 8, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.
PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.
Announcement: We have two awesome new Props Optimizers for the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NCAA! The PrizePicks Optimizer and Prop Bets Optimizer are both available in our new Props Premium Package, which includes exclusive access to RotoBaller's VIP Discord chat rooms for props and betting.
PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Kevin Gausman more than 7.5 strikeouts
Gausman has a tremendous matchup against the Tigers this afternoon. Over the previous two weeks, Detroit has posted a 26.3% K rate vs. right-handed pitchers, which ranks fifth-worst in the league. They have also posted an abysmal 5.4% walk rate and just a 73 wRC+ vs. righties over that same span. Add in the fact that Gausman has eclipsed this total in nine starts this season and you have a recipe for success.
Tyler Wells more than 6.0 strikeouts
Wells is another guy with a tremendous matchup today as the Twins are posting the fourth-highest K rate vs. righties over the previous two weeks with a rate of 26.3%. Wells has also been solid as he has struck out at least seven batters in seven of his previous 10 starts.
Gavin Williams more than 5.0 strikeouts
Williams will be up against the Royals, who have posted the highest K rate vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks with a rate of 27.3%. They have also posted horrible walk and wRC+ rates at 6% and 46, respectively. Willaims faced these Royals back on June 27th and managed to strike out six batters. Aaron Civale also faced them last night, who is not a high-strikeout pitcher, and managed to mow down nine.
Other Recommendations: James Paxton more than 6.5 strikeouts, David Peterson more than 5.0 strikeouts, Spencer Strider more than 9.0 strikeouts
