Luke Raley Sitting Against Right-Hander
1 year agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Luke Raley is not in the starting lineup on Friday against the visiting Atlanta Braves. The left-handed hitter is typically in the team's starting lineup against right-handed pitchers, but he'll find himself on the bench to start this contest against Braves righty Charlie Morton. Outfielder Harold Ramirez is serving as the designated hitter and is batting fifth. Raley has been a productive outfield bat for the first-place Rays in 2023 and has gone 17-for-51 (.333) with four home runs, four doubles, 10 RBI, a stolen base and 15 runs scored in 59 trips to the plate in his last 15 games. The 28-year-old should be back in the starting lineup for the final two games of the first half of the season on Saturday and Sunday.
