Ryan Mountcastle Playing But Struggling At Triple-A
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (vertigo) is batting .209 with one home run, five RBI, and four walks in his rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk. The 26-year-old has been on the injured list prior to June 13's game, with the move retroactive to June 10. While he has been playing at Triple-A, it remains to be seen when he could rejoin the O's, as vertigo is not as clear as a condition to manage or recover from compared to a bone or muscle injury. Mountcastle hadn't hit for average but was hitting for power with the O's, slashing .227/.264/.421 with 11 HR and 39 RBI in 261 plate appearances. He is worth hanging onto for fantasy managers with IL spots in their leagues.
