Peyton Battenfield Throws 58 Pitches in Double-A Rehab Start
1 year agoCleveland Guardians starting pitcher Peyton Battenfield (shoulder) threw 58 pitches in Tuesday's rehab start with Double-A Akron. Battenfield pitched three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and four walks with three strikeouts. This was the 25-year-old's first rehab outing since being placed on the injured list on May 18 with right shoulder inflammation. Battenfield will not be eligible to rejoin the Guardians until the beginning of August. He made seven appearances (six starts) in his first stint in the big leagues and had lackluster results, going 0-5 with a 5.19 ERA. Battenfield is worth fantasy attention in dynasty leagues and keeper leagues, but he may not be guaranteed a roster spot even when he is eligible.
