Dominic Canzone Having Impressive Season
1 year agoOn an Arizona Diamondbacks roster that is stacked at the outfield position, Triple-A outfield prospect Dominic Canzone has been making a strong case for a promotion. The 25-year-old has put together a strong season over 69 games with a shiny .339 batting average, coupled with 16 homers and 68 RBI. The Diamondbacks have surprised many this season and haven't been shy to make the moves they've needed to accrue wins this season. Outfielders Corbin Carroll and Jake McCarthy have been performing well as everyday players, but Alek Thomas has been a rollercoaster all season, and another demotion for him would be the likeliest scenario for Canzone to get his chance in the Show. With the way he has played and with the struggles of Thomas, Canzone is breathing down his neck and should get a chance at the big-league level sooner than later. He makes for a strong stash in redraft leagues and should already be rostered in dynasty formats.
