Colton Dowell Could Make Titans Roster
1 year agoTennessee Titans wide receiver Colton Dowell was selected with the 228th pick (seventh round) of the 2023 NFL Draft, meaning there's no guarantee he makes the team's 53-man roster. However, the Titans wide receiver group is largely viewed as the worst unit in the NFL, so he likely has a better chance than most seventh-round picks. Dowell posted 1,032 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 67 receptions last season at UT-Martin and tested spectacularly as an athlete during the pre-draft process. Tennessee Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt said he thinks Dowell will make the team, but DeAndre Hopkins signing with the Titans could change things. For now, Treylon Burks, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Chris Moore, and Kyle Philips figure to be locks to make the roster, so Dowell might have to beat out Racey McMath to do so. If Hopkins signs, his chances dramatically decrease. Dowell will not be on the fantasy radar in even the deepest of leagues, but injuries happen and there's plenty of room for someone to step up in the weak WR room.
