Darick Hall Recalled And Starting Sunday
1 year agoThe Philadelphia Phillies recalled infielder Darick Hall from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday and optioned infielder Kody Clemens to Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move to make room for Hall on the 26-man roster. Hall is starting at first base and batting eighth in the lineup in the series finale on Sunday against the Washington Nationals and right-hander Trevor Williams. The 27-year-old was activated from the injured list in early June after spending around two months sidelined due to a torn ligament in his thumb, but he was sent to the minors. He was hitting over .300 on the farm at Lehigh Valley to earn a call-up to the big leagues, and he should see regular at-bats at first base for the Phillies when the team is facing a right-hander. In 18 at-bats for the Phillies earlier this year, Hall was hitting just .222 with no home runs and one RBI.
