Shane Van Gisbergen Almost Pulled Off The Pole
1 year agoWith a minute or so left in qualifying, it looked like Shane Van Gisbergen may do the impossible. The driver from New Zealand took the third Trackhouse Racing car and turned in some great laps. That included an 88.588 second gem which appeared to be enough for the pole. Unfortunately, Denny Hamlin and Tyler Reddick would sneak under that mark. However, Van Gisbergen will start his No. 91 Chevy from inside of Row 2 on Sunday. He will be a driver to watch at the Grant Park 220 with his ability to handle the technical aspects of the course.
