1 year agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Nestor Cortes (shoulder) threw in the bullpen on Friday. Fortunately, things went well, with the left-hander reporting he didn't experience any pain. According to manager Aaron Boone, Cortes is scheduled for at least one more bullpen session, which may come as early as Monday, before advancing to live batting practices and, eventually, a rehab assignment. Cortes certainly lost a step in 2023 and was sitting on a 5.16 ERA before going down. Although he probably won't be back prior to the All-Star break, he's at least moving in a positive direction.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
