Bryce Miller Leaves Start Early With Blister
2 years agoSeattle Mariners rookie right-hander Bryce Miller (finger) saw his velocity dip considerably while dealing with what looked to be a blister issue on his finger on Friday against the Tampa Bay Rays and was removed early. Miller surrendered a 411-foot home run and allowed a total of two runs while walking one and striking out six in 3 1/3 innings to raise his season ERA to 3.97 before departing. It's not a serious injury, but it remains to be seen if the 24-year-old will be able to make his next start. At worst, Miller might be rested heading into the All-Star break. Friday was his 11th start in his rookie season, and Miller remains appealing in fantasy leagues for his strikeout upside with his fastball-slider combination. He now has 55 K's in 59 innings pitched.
