Griffin Canning, 5.5 Strikeouts (LOWER)
Against right-handed pitchers on the road, the Arizona Diamondbacks are slashing .260/.333/.437 with a .770 OPS and a 109 wRC. Their K rate away from home versus right-handed pitchers is 18.4%, and Canning's K rate for the season is 23%. The Diamondbacks don't strike a lot, and in the last 30 days, they have a .593 win percentage, 28 home runs, and 218 RBI. I expect the Snakes' bats to take Canning out early tonight.
J.P. Crawford, 0.5 Singles (LOWER)
The Mariners are facing Shane McClanahan tonight, who is 3-1 in his last five games with 25 strikeouts in 29 innings pitched. Versus left-handed pitchers at home, Seattle has struck out 105 times and is slashing a lowly .222/.288/.388 and a .676 OPS. In his career against left-handed pitchers in Seattle, Crawford has a .191 batting average with six home runs and 36 RBI in 380 plate appearances. Singles will be hard to come by for any Mariner tonight versus McClanahan.
Austin Hedges, 0.5 Hits (LOWER)
For the season, Pittsburgh has a 58 wRC+ and an 85 wRC+ for the last 30 days. They are inching close to 100 but still aren't where this team needs to be. In 42 plate appearances versus the Pirates this season, Peralta has a 35.7 K rate, and versus Peralta, the Pirates are only slashing .234/.312/.383. Hedges versus righties this year has a .188 batting average with 16 hits and six RBI in 96 plate appearances. I am not expecting that to improve at home tonight versus Peralta and the Brewers.
Shohei Ohtani, 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (HIGHER)
The Angels are at home tonight, facing left-handed pitcher Tommy Henry. Versus lefty pitchers in his career, Ohtani has a .256 batting average with 40 homers and 107 RBI. The Angels' have a 130 wRC+ for the season and a .233 ISO. Henry has a 4.31 ERA but a 5.34 xFIP. Versus Henry in hitter-friendly Angel Park, the Halos' bats won't stay quiet for long, and Ohtani will easily go over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI.
Nolan Arenado, 0.5 Singles (HIGHER)
For the season against right-handed pitchers, Arenado has a .276 batting average with 12 home runs and 43 RBI in 261 plate appearances. The Cardinals are slashing .257/.330/.419 with a 109 wRC+ against righties this year and are facing Luis Severino, who has a 19.5% K rate and 5.03 xFIP. This matchup is a classic "don't overthink it" spot for Nolan Arenado and St. Louis.
Christian Walker, 0.5 Singles (HIGHER)
Arizona is facing Griffin Canning tonight, and as we discussed above, they are slashing .260/.333/.437 with a .770 OPS and a 109 wRC+. Versus lefties this season, Walker is slashing .265/.363/.588 with a .951 OPS. In 80 plate appearances, he has six home runs and 19 RBI. Another "don't overthink it" spot for tonight's matchup versus Griffin Canning.
