Braves Option Jared Shuster To Triple-A
1 year agoThe Atlanta Braves optioned rookie left-hander Jared Shuster to Triple-A Gwinnett following their game on Wednesday. It comes after the young southpaw allowed four runs on seven hits while walking none and striking out two in just 3 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Cincinnati Reds on June 24. Shuster certainly has things to work on back in the minors after posting a 5.00 ERA (4.83 FIP), 1.42 WHIP, 22 walks and only 25 strikeouts in 45 innings over his first nine major-league starts. The 24-year-old will probably be back up again at some point in the second half of the season, but for now it looks like his rotation spot will go to Michael Soroka.
