1 year agoHouston Astros outfielder Michael Brantley (shoulder) hit on the field on Tuesday and hit in the batting cages on Wednesday. He was also fielding balls in left field before Wednesday's game. Believe it or not, but Brantley has yet to play in a game in 2023 after having shoulder surgery last August. The 36-year-old was getting close to making his season debut before suffering a setback and being shut down from baseball activities. There's still no timetable for his return, but at least he has resumed swinging a bat. Fantasy managers probably shouldn't have much interest in the five-time All-Star until he returns and proves he can stay healthy. He's a career .298 hitter but has only produced a 20-homer season two times in 14 seasons.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
