Patriots, DeVante Parker Agree To Three-Year Extension
1 year agoThe New England Patriots and wide receiver DeVante Parker agreed to a three-year contract extension worth up to $33 million on Wednesday, according to sources. The deal also includes $14 million in guarantees and per-game roster bonuses. Parker was considered a potential salary cap casualty this offseason, but instead the Pats will keep him around for a while longer. It remains to be seen if this extension will have any impact on whether New England is able to land free-agent wideout DeAndre Hopkins. The 30-year-old Parker caught 31 of his 47 targets for 539 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games (11 starts) in his first year with the Pats in 2022. Injuries have hurt the former first-rounder, but he could have a big role in what should be an improved offense in 2023 alongside JuJu Smith-Schuster and Kendrick Bourne if Hopkins chooses to sign elsewhere.
