Jeff McNeil Sitting Against Left-hander
1 year agoNew York Mets second baseman Jeff McNeil is out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers and left-hander Wade Miley. Not only has McNeil struggled against lefties this year -- .230 (17-for-74) with no home runs in 92 plate appearances -- but he has gone 5-for-39 (.128) with no homers, one RBI and 10 strikeouts in 11 games over the past 14 days. Fantasy managers might want to keep the 31-year-old benched until he shows signs of life at the plate. He's hitting .257 (72-for-280) overall with only three home runs, 21 RBI and four stolen bases in 78 games. Danny Mendick is starting at the keystone on Wednesday for the Mets and is in the nine-hole against Miley and the Brew Crew.
